Stay On Track With Town & Country Village Fitness Studios.
Reset Those Fitness Resolutions!
January is well-known for being a month of resolutions and resolve, goal-setting and get-going. If you’re looking for some extra fitness motivation, Town & Country Village gyms and studios are ready for you with a selection of workout options and self-care treatments. Making goals and keeping them starts here at Town & Country Village.
If you started the new year strong, but are finding your fitness motivation slipping a bit, Kimberly Plessel, a registered dietitian on Orangetheory’s medical board, says staying focused requires making a plan. She cites five specific action items to for staying on track.
Write down your goals. Yes, with a pen on real paper. “There’s a lot of research into how the act of writing it down is important,” Dr. Odell says. Adds Ellen: “Words create actions and actions create attitude.”
Make the goals yours. If you’re setting goals someone else wants for you, you’ll get resentful or lose interest. “If you’re not excited about it,” Kimberly says, “you won’t want to do it.”
Focus on small accomplishments. “Setting sights on a big goal is great, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming,” Chloe says. “I create monthly goals to work toward that ladder up to my larger goal.”
Think SMART. Kimberly and other professionals steer their clients toward this acronym: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely. “I look at goals as action steps,” she says. “You want to identify long-term outcomes, working to break each into an actionable step.”
Trust the process. “The coaches know what they’re doing,” Ben says. “I can’t believe the words coming out of my mouth, but I really enjoy working out. Am I going to fall apart if I don’t lose 20 more pounds? No. I’m still going to try, but internally, I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been.”
Orangetheory’s approach to fitness involves group exercise reimagined. The heart-rate based workout combines science, coaching and technology to guarantee maximum results from the inside out.
The classes are designed to charge your metabolism for more caloric afterburn, results, and confidence. Interested in trying Orangetheory out for yourself. Click here to sign up for a free first class.
Raising the Fitness Barre
If you’re looking for a fitness plan that’s challenging and adaptive to your own skill level, The Bar Method Houston should definitely be on your workout schedule. The Bar Method predominantly uses your own bodyweight for resistance along with a few basic props like free weights, mats and a ball.
Every class starts with a warm-up, upper-body exercises and push-ups in the middle of the room, followed by a sequence of leg and seat work at the barre and core exercises on the floor. Students of all levels work within their individual limits while receiving encouragement to continually push forward.
There’s still time to take advantage of The Bar Method’s January special offer of one full month of classes for just $49. Take the classes when and where you want for an experience tailored to your specific needs. Click here for details.
