JCI Grill (James Coney Island) is the famed 97-year-old restaurant that’s served up chili cheese coneys to generations of Houstonians. While the signature coney dogs will always be the restaurant’s top seller, JCI provides a diverse menu that caters to a variety of cravings. JCI has collaborated with some of Houston’s top chefs and even well-known food writers to introduce new menu items. Currently JCI is offering the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with chipotle mayo, pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes.
So what’s better than hot dogs for the July 4th weekend? A hot dog of a deal! JCI is offering 10 Original Coneys with mustard, coney sauce and special minced onions on a fresh steamed bun for JUST $10. this July 4th. Seriously you can’t beat that! Unless, you get the 97Cent Original Coneys every Third Thursday June-October with no limit. There’s much more at JCI that makes it hard to decide what to order. We love the Nolan Ryan Grand Slam Sliders, Chili Cheese Fries or Tots, Roasted Corn “Elotes Style” and the super thick Milk Shakes.

Our fave Snewz quote: “Snooze levels up traditional breakfast staples with guilt-free eggs, artisan meats like barbacoa and corned beef, and spiked sauces like green chile hollandaise and rosemary sausage gravy. Basically, it’s like somebody took that ultra-fancy brunch spot you always see your friend waiting in line for on Insta, scaled it, dialed back attitude, and rolled it out in chain form.” The Thrillist
Go For Tex Mex Hot And Spicy Sizzle
It’s worth noting that hot refers to the level of spiciness and savoriness with Tex Mex cuisine. Plan a new culinary adventure by joining us at TCV with Caliente Fast and Casual Mexican Restaurant or Escalante’s Fine Tex Mex & Tequila Restaurant this July 4th weekend. Both Tex Mex inspired eateries will win you over with their outstanding culinary innovations, an energetic atmosphere along with friendly service. You’re guaranteed to love their fresh, seasonal fare.
Caliente Mexican Restaurant
At Caliente’s Mexican restaurant you’ll experience every type of spicy hot there is. They source most of their ingredients right from Texas (Beef for Fajitas comes from Cameron, Texas). And they’re open for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner until 9pm nightly.
Escalante’s Tex Mex Restaurant & Tequila Restaurant
Escalante is a Spanish last name meaning climber and you will definitely reach new heights when you dine at Escalante’s restaurant. Their classic family recipes are handcrafted to perfection with a personal touch that truly makes the difference to your taste buds. “Get Freezing” At The Creamistry For A Fresh Ice Cream Experience
Everyone loves to partake in ice cream on the 4th of July! And it’s an American tradition. Our local fave is the Creamistry and for good reason. The fresh frozen liquid nitrogen ice cream is addictive! And it’s a real experience to watch them make it. The liquid nitrogen smoke show is a thrill to see. Enjoy it by the scoop, in a deliciously layered creation or try a perfectly whipped NitroShake™.
Creamistry’s ice cream is luxuriously creamy, decadently rich and ultra-fresh! There is a multitude of creative flavors and toppings to choose from. The kiddos will love the Cookie Monster, Frosted Animal Cookie, Birthday Cake and Cap’n Crunch® flavors. Look for a wide selection of vegan, dairy-free and organic menu items too. Try non-dairy sorbets or the all-natural, vegan coconut base. And “get freezing” and taste the Creamistry® difference this holiday weekend.
