Looking for something fun to do with the kids?
We’ve got kid-friendly fun happening at TCV. So bring your kiddos to Town & Country Village for a special outing this holiday season! You’ll find that there’s lots to keep kids entertained at our shopping and dining mecca, especially this time of year. Here’s the run down on our top kid-friendly activities.
Shop for Christmas Presents with your Kids at Town & Country Village
Kids love the chance to pick out gifts for other people. The holiday season gives them ample opportunity to do just that! Have kids bring their own Christmas list and work out a budget for their special outing.
Depending on who they are shopping for, they can use their own allowance or draw from pooled funds. Kids might want to spend their own cash when it comes to shopping for siblings. Grandparent gifts could come from a shared budget that parents and siblings contribute to together.
Some gift ideas for grandma include fun jewelry from fashion retailers like Francesca’s or kitchen linens from Pottery Barn. Grandpa might like cufflinks from Banana Republic or specialty food items from Williams-Sonoma. Newly released books from Barnes & Noble make great gifts for grandparents who love to read!
As for teacher gifts, set a budget and have your kids come up with ideas about what to get. What do they think their teacher will like? Hint: Gift cards from Starbucks or any of Town & Country’s restaurants like KP’s Kitchen and Postinos are probably a safe bet!
Enjoy Fun Photo Spots at Town & Country Village
After working through a few people on their gift list, the kids will probably appreciate a little break from shopping. Head over to the Town & Country Village water fountain near Café Express patio for a rest and photo break. Snap some cute pictures of the kids admiring the water fountain at this picturesque spot.
Then head over to the colorful cow sculpture located near the main Memorial Drive entrance. They’ll love the whimsical designs on this kid-friendly piece of art. Snap some selfies to commemorate your fun outing at TCV with the kids! Another must stop is the tall Christmas tree in the Grand Plaza Park. Perfect for group pictures.
Explore Kid-Friendly Stores & Shops
Now that the gift list has been tackled, head to the really fun stuff! Learning Express Toys & Gifts is a wonderland for kids of all ages. Find educational toys, games, puzzles, and trending toys at this kid-friendly Town & Country Village destination.
You can’t go wrong with fidget toys, Squishmallows, and Legos! Pretend Play toys are also a big hit with little ones. Check out the selection of new dolls, pretend food, and stuffed animals that make home-making play extra fun.
The Barnes & Noble kids section at Town & Country always impresses kids with their wide variety of colorful picture books and chapter books. Children love to explore the selections, from classics and beloved stories, to new releases of their favorite series. The new Dragon Master’s “Howl of the Wind Dragon” Volume #20 just came out and fans are clamoring to get their hands on this action-packed adventure story perfect for newly independent readers.
The toy section at Barnes & Noble is stocked with Harry Potter Legos, Barbies, board games, sensory bins and STEM activity kits, and more. Kids will love wandering up and down the aisles to admire all the craft kids, musical instrument toys, Barbies and plush characters from their favorite books.
Got Older Kids? These Stores Can Be Fun Too!
Tweens and teens who have started to appreciate the luxury of nice bath products will enjoy a visit to Bath & Body Works. Customers can try out lotions and scented soaps at the sink to decide which scents you like best.
The store also carries a large variety of PocketBacs, colorful pocket-sized scented hand-sanitizers. These come in lots of fun and creative scents and make cute stocking stuffers as well. The PocketBac holders come in many different styles, complete with a clip that attaches to a backpack or purse so you always have hand sanitizer handy.
The small-sized hand sanitizer sprays are also popular and fit nicely in a backpack. Many of these are adorned with playful graphics on them with scents like Twisted Peppermint and Snowy Peach Berry.
Trudy’s Hallmark is a treasure trove of fun trinkets, decorations, gifts, and cheerful greeting cards. Kids can pick out a special holiday card from their vast collection of greetings to accompany their teacher gifts. Have children write a personalized message inside the card and give their teachers a gift they’ll really treasure.
Start a new tradition with the kids at Trudy’s Hallmark; bring them here to pick out an ornament for your family’s Christmas tree. They might want to choose something meaningful to them like an ornament to symbolize a sport or pastime they love. Hallmark has so many special keepsake ornaments too, with popular characters from Disney and more. Or maybe they’ll want a pretty holiday-themed ornament to hang on the tree and add to the Christmas spirit.
Time to Eat! Kids Love These Dining Spots
Keep it fun with the little ones today when it comes to mealtime. Surprise them by doing something different—make two stops for lunch! Start with a quick lunch at Subway or Quiznos where kids can choose a sandwich from their extensive menu of hot or cold options served on war fresh bread. Add a bag of chips and a fountain drink to complete the meal.
Afterwards, head over to La Madeleine’s for a sweet treat! Kids love to look at all the scrumptious bakery items displayed in the glass cases. The colorful fruit tarts and decadent chocolate tarts make a great little dessert. Each person can order their favorite treat and then everyone can sit down to savor it at the outdoor patio. Grab a cup of coffee or espresso for your own little pick-me-up!
Prep for a Post-Shopping Drive Around the Neighborhood
This would be a great time to drive around the neighborhood to enjoy all the twinkling lights and Christmas inflatables, wreaths, and other decorations!
What better way to add to the experience than with some munchies in the car? Before you leave Town & Country Village, head to Walgreens to grab some quick snacks and drinks to enjoy on your drive.
